Scurix Recently Viewed ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify application developed by Scurix. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you install and use the app, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.
We have designed Scurix Recently Viewed with privacy as a core principle. The recently viewed product history used to power the gallery is stored locally in each shopper's own browser — it never leaves their device or reaches our servers.
As a shopper browses a Shopify store that has Scurix Recently Viewed installed, the app records the IDs of products the shopper views. This list is saved in the browser's localStorage — a storage area that exists entirely on the shopper's device. The app then reads that list to display the recently viewed gallery.

We access only the minimum data required for these operations. We do not read, store, or process any other Shopify store data, including orders, customers, or financial records.
Merchant configuration data (app settings and access tokens) is stored on servers located within the European Economic Area (EEA). All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Access is restricted to authorised Scurix personnel only, and only where necessary for support or maintenance.
We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers in connection with this app.
Merchant configuration data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your Shopify store. If you uninstall Scurix Recently Viewed, all data associated with your store is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days of uninstallation.
Shopper browsing history (the local browser storage) is never held by us and is controlled entirely by the shopper's browser settings.
Because Scurix Recently Viewed does not collect, transmit, or store any shopper personal data, your obligations under GDPR (EU) 2016/679 and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) with respect to the recently viewed functionality are minimal.
The locally stored product-ID list does not constitute personal data under GDPR Article 4(1), as it cannot be used to identify a natural person without the shopper's own device and browser session.

Because we hold no shopper personal data, shoppers wishing to clear their recently viewed history can do so at any time by clearing their browser's local storage or site data for the store's domain. This is done through their browser settings — no action is required on our end.
We do not sell, rent, or share any merchant or shopper data with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes. We may engage sub-processors (such as cloud hosting providers) solely for the purpose of operating the service, and only under data processing agreements that comply with applicable data protection law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, notify you via the Shopify admin notification system.
Continued use of Scurix Recently Viewed after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
